SUGGESTED TYPES OF FASTS:

FULL FAST

~No solid foods for 24 hours

~Drinking plenty of water

 

DANIEL FAST

~Eating only fruits, vegetables, whole grain foods & nuts for 24 hours

~Drinking plenty of water

 

PARTIAL FAST #1

~No solid food from 5:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m.

~Drinking plenty of water

 

PARTIAL FAST #2

~Only eating one meal a day, within a 24 hour period (breakfast, lunch, or dinner)

~Drinking plenty of water

 

PARTIAL FAST #3

~Miss one meal a day, within a 24 hour period (breakfast, lunch or dinner)

~Drinking plenty of water

 

MEDIA FAST

~Abstain from all non-Christian media for a 24 hour period (although using media for spiritual or work purposes is fine).

 

CREATIVE FAST

~Abstain from a daily activity or food item that you enjoy, for a 24 hour period.

IMPORTANT TIPS ON PRAYING & FASTING:

~Choose an appropriate fast for you.

~Choose a fast that can allow you to take your medications.

~Consult with your doctor if you have any medical concerns about fasting.

~Have a designated time you will pray while fasting.

~Read your Bible in addition to fasting.

~Obtain a prayer journal, to record what God is revealing to you through fasting.

 

THE LORD DECLARED IN 2 CHRONICLES 7:14:

“If My people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal (restore) their land.”
