Shirley Garner

Shirley's family moved to Stockton when she was age four, and she was raised with her brother and two sisters on a ranch about ten miles east of Stockton. Her father was Rev. Clyde J. Haney, for whom the radio station was originally named (KCJH).

Shirley attended both Linden High School and Western Apostolic High School, and is a graduate of Western Apostolic Bible College which is now Christian Life College.

She served as General Manager at KYCC from 1988-2021.

She loves spending time with her family. Her son, Jeffrey Garner, pastors in San Francisco, and daughter Kimberly Sarale is a therapist at St Joseph's Hospital. Shirley is also a proud grandmother of four.

She also loves gardening, reading, music, and animals, especially horses, dogs and cats. "It seems like I have always had a cat and I become very attached to them. I find it very hard when I lose one. Right now I have a beautiful calico bobtail named Molly whom I picked up as a stray."

The station staff can testify to Shirley's admitted fondness for anything chocolate, and her favorite song on the station is "Look a Little Closer" by Helen Baylor.

When asked to choose her favorite Bible verse, she said, "There are several, but one is Philippians 4:13: 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.'"
