After spending fifteen years in secular radio as a host, programmer, promotions and production director, God called Sheldon to Christian radio in 2005 right here with KYCC, after his Pastor introduced him to Shirley Garner and Adam Biddell, our former Operations Manager.

 

Sheldon admits that making the switch from secular to Christian radio was probably the only time he was ever nervous and scared about doing radio. He said, “I felt like I would bring the same secular delivery or content and say the wrong things, but somehow God took care of that.”

 

Sheldon first worked for KYCC from 2005 to 2007, then left to take on the position of Program Director at Family Friendly KCFY in Yuma, Arizona. It was actually a challenge at first programming a Christian format after spending years programming secular radio, but Sheldon was determined to use his gift for God’s glory and he was a huge success.

 

While in Arizona, Sheldon programmed KCFY from 2007 to 2010, and also did weekend TV work for FOX, ABC and The CW as a Business Talk reporter and Entertainment Correspondent.

 

In 2013 Sheldon and his family moved back to California, whereupon he immediately approached Shirley and asked to come back to KYCC. The answer was yes; it was as if he never left.

 

You can hear Sheldon weekday mornings 9:30-11:00, and Saturday mornings 6:00-9:00, bringing you the best in Christian music as well as some vibrant inspiration. Sheldon recently assumed the duties of Promotions Director, and we are excited to have him on the leadership team.

 

Sheldon is married to Catherine and together they have two daughters, Ashley and Nicole, and a cat named London. Additionally, he is a Personal Trainer, as well as a kickboxing and Tabata coach, loves baseball, and is a BIG Raider fan. Oh, and he stutters.
