In response to northern California’s Camp Fire, Convoy of Hope has shipped more than 300,000 pounds of product to California and has served more than 16,000 individuals.
As of November 21, 79 lives have been claimed by the fire. The number of deaths is expected to increase as authorities continue to search for the more than 800 people who are unaccounted for. The wildfire has been confirmed as the deadliest in California’s history. It has burned more than 140,000 acres and destroyed 10,321 structures.
Before the start of the Camp Fire, Convoy of Hope already had product in California from our response to the Redding Fire earlier this year. Our partners in the area had immediate access to bottled water and cots for distribution.
Supplies being distributed by Convoy of Hope include food, water, blankets, hygiene items, cleaning supplies, masks, blankets and cots.
