Brent grew up in Fresno and moved to Stockton in 1976 to attend Christian Life College. Following graduation in 1980, he eventually joined the KYCC staff in 1985, working full-time as Program Director until 2005. He returned to that position in 2014. He has recently been appointed KYCC's new general manager as of April 2021.

 

In addition to being the General Manager, he still performs his Program Director duties alongside hosting the Morning Show from 5am-9am.

In 1990, as a concerned parent, he got involved in Children's Ministry, and has developed a strong passion for it in the years since. He has served in three churches as Children's Pastor, and now travels across the country training Sunday School teachers and children's leaders. Additionally, he has authored a book on storytelling and developed a series of Teacher Training DVD's.
 

He hosted a children's show, Kids & Company, for thirty years, 1987-2017, on KYCC.

He and his wife Rachel have four married children and eight grandchildren.

Brent is hopelessly addicted to tacos and claims he could survive on them seven days a week. He is also known for his competitive style in Scrabble.
