Sacramento Banana Festival

Sacramento Banana Festival is a two-day family-friendly multicultural celebration of the diverse cultures that use the banana as food, held each August at Shasta Park in Elk Grove California. The Banana Festival features live entertainment on two stages, a chefs’ challenge, line dancing, pageants, fashion show, art exhibits, exhibits by dozens of local businesses and community organizations, arts and crafts activities, kiddie carnival rides, and lots of banana cuisine.

The 2016 Sacramento Banana Festival will be held on Saturday, August 20, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, August 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Festival is located on the Shasta Park (7407 Shasta Ave., Elk Grove). General admission is $8 in advance and $10 at the gate, free for children age 5 and under.

Now celebrating its seventh year, the Sacramento Banana Festival was established in 2009 as a community celebration of arts and culture and as a fundraiser for the National Academic Youth Corp., which serves some 15,000 Sacramento-area youth and adults annually with arts education and cultural awareness programming. In addition we want Banana Festival to be a catalyst to support other local non-profits and their efforts to benefit our communities.
